The European Union has called for a complete ban on all single use plastics. It will be in full effect by 2021 because there are still some “procedural hurdles” they need to go through.

What will be banned?

Cutlery and cotton buds are easy to ban because there are already alternatives in existence. However, items such as sandwich wrappers will be reduced by 25% in all EU countries by year 2025. Hopefully an alternative is found beforehand.
