New Jersey is building the largest off shore wind farm in the US
This past Friday in New Jersey, state regulators backed the $1.6 billion plan for a wind-energy farm that will be located about 15 miles off Atlantic City’s coast. Danish energy company Orsted will be the company working with PSEG power to develop the 1,110 megawatt offshore wind farm.
The Ocean Wind project will produce enough electricity to power over a half-million homes in New Jersey. This is the largest offshore wind proposal in US history and will also be the largest wind farm in the United States when its complete. The project is set to begin in 2022 or 2023 with its first phase online in 2024.
