Pollution declines around the world thanks to coronavirus lockdown

With all the fear and anxiety surrounding the coronavirus, Lovevolution is here to remind of you the positive things happening. There is some good news happening with our environment. Pollution around the world has declined because of the coronavirus lockdown.

New satellite information shows a drop in nitrogen dioxide (NO2). This is definitely a positive because studies have shown that long term exposure to NO2 increases bronchitis symptoms in asthmatic children. Nitrogen dioxide(NO2) is produced from car engines, power plants and other industrial processes.

The good news is that Wuhan, China has seen one of the largest drops in pollution levels after their city was placed on lockdown end of January. NASA says NO2 levels are 10-30% lower than normal. NO2 levels have dropped about 40% in Italy according to director of the Copernicus Atmosphere Service.
