America's first ever children series with an indigenous lead set to premiere

Molly of Denali is America’s first ever children’s series featuring indigenous leads. Representation matters and it is coming to our screens with full force. The animated series centers around the adventures of a 10 year old Athabascan girl named Molly Mabray.

Princess Daazhraii Johnson is a creative producer of the series and member of an Athabascan group, Neets’aii Gwich’in. She grew up all over Alaska and spent her summers in the Gwich’in village of Fort Yukon.

"We have an opportunity with this show, with 'Molly of Denali,' to inform and to show us in a positive and respectful light.”

Athabascan is a family of indigenous languages of North America. 38 half-hour episodes were ordered by PBS and will premiere July 15th on PBS Kids.
