Former homeless man installs sinks around Atlanta so the homeless can wash their hands

The homeless population often cannot wash their hands due to lack of access to clean water and soap. Terence Lester knows the struggle all too well, since as a teenager he was homeless. Now Terence is the executive director of nonprofit Love Beyond Walls, dedicated to helping the homeless. Terence wanted to make a difference for the homeless population facing the coronavirus. His solution was to place portable wash stations around Atlanta.

The first 15 portable sinks were provided thanks to grammy winning artist Lecrae and Reach Records. Lecrae even helped Terence assemble and place the sinks around Atlanta. nonprofit goes around to clean each portable sink everyday. They also refill the sinks with water and soap. Terence hopes that this idea catches on and spreads around the country. He told CNN

"Even more than that, these sinks can spark the conversation of what else we can do to help the homeless facing this pandemic."
