The owner of the Four Seasons, Ty Warner, had the idea to repurpose the hotel from its usual $1,000 + a night to essentially a dorm for exhausted medical workers. Some commute from Long Island by train, which can take a couple hours a day. Now, they have a place to rest their had after a very short commute. Governor Cuomo made the announcement on Twitter of the new change and it’s definitely been an adjustment for The Four Seasons staff. Dirty items are not collected daily, instead, after guests stay at least 7 days, they are and the room is fumigated. Every process had to be reinvented with hand sanitizing stations being placed throughout the hotel.

The hotel is now working directly with NYC hospitals and medical associations to handle reservation requests.
