The Netherlands is paying people to bike to work

Over 25% of Dutch residents take trips by bike, which is higher than any other country. The government still wants more people to ride and will pay each cyclist for every kilometer they ride to work.

 How much exactly?

$.22 per kilometer, oh and its tax free

The money is paid through their employer. Last year, the government made a commitment of $390 million to expand the infrastructure. Their goal? To get 200,000 more people to bike to work, which will address climate change concerns and improve everyone’s health.
