Puerto Rico is going 100% renewable by 2050
A bill just passed through Puerto Rico’s Senate requiring the Caribbean island to move to 100% renewable energy by 2050. The devastation of Hurricane Maria last year has really ignited the desire of change inside many. Puerto Rico had the longest blackout in the history of the US. Not only is electricity more expensive for Puerto Ricans than it is for those in the states, but with the abundance of sunshine, it’s a no brainer to make the switch to clean energy. Puerto Rico had the longest Everyone is anticipating the switch to happen much sooner than 2050. Puerto Rico’s governor is expected to sign the bill within a month.
