Judge bans drilling in Arctic Ocean

A federal judge in Alaska ruled it is unlawful to conduct oil and gas drilling in the Arctic Ocean, despite an executive order signed 2 years ago. With this ruling comes the reinstatement of restrictions that the Obama administration placed on Arctic drilling.

This new ruling will protect 120 million acres of Arctic Ocean, as well as 3.8 million in the Atlantic Ocean.
