Located 20 mins outside of Baltimore, Maryland’s only black owned movie theater opened in March and has received a very warm welcome. Next Act Cinema is owned by friends Anthony Fykes and Robert Wright who used to work together. They renovated Pikes Theater with two smaller theaters that host 43 seats each. Popcorn, food and wine is available for purchase from the theater’s waitstaff.

“The support has been very humbling for us because we didn’t know that what we were doing could have such a social impact.” Fykes told Huffington Post.
