Muslim Youth group cleans up national parks while government is shutdown

Group of young muslim men have decided to take the future of the national parks into their own hands. While the government has shut down, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has decided to get rid of the trash in parks that have very limited staff. Dozens of volunteers with the Maryland based organization were mobilized to clean up, empty trash cans and sweep.

Where have they been seen cleaning?

Independence Hall in PA

Everglades National Park in FLA

Joshua Tree in CA

Cuyahoga Valley in OH

Dr. Madeel Abdullah, president of the youth group, said in a press release. "We could not sit idly by as our national parks collected trash. We will lead by example and dispose of this garbage appropriately and invite all Americans to join us in these parks and others across the nation."

This is not something new for the organization, as they regularly participate in community cleanups. The organization has over 70 chapters throughout the US with 500 members.
