Undocumented immigrants are a hot topic of conversation these days. People assume that there is a link between immigration and crime,  which is why the word immigrant has a negative connotation. New research shows there is no connection between immigration and crime in the US. An increase in undocumented immigrants does not cause crime rates to rise. The effects of undocumented immigration on crime is still being research. Early research does suggest with more undocumented residents there is a decrease in property crime.
