Apple Is Now Protecting 27,000 Acres of Mangrove Forest in Colombia

Apple is on a mission to improve their environmental impact and their latest announcement proves just that. In partnership with Conservation International, Apple will protect a 27,000 acre mangrove forest in Cordoba, Colombia. The forest is alive in Cispata Bay, which can be found along the Caribbean coast of Colombia.

The mangroves not only protect the coastal communities of Colombia from storm sturges, but they also provide food and wood supplies. There are recent studies that show the mangroves can store up to 10 times the amount of carbon per acre as land-based forests.
