Here are the places offering free meals to children out of school due to coronavirus

The coronavirus has left children in New York and California with no school. Since many families rely on free school lunch to feed their children, restaurants in both states are stepping up to help. Below is a list of where your children can go to get a free meal.

CALIFORNIA:

  • Hugo’s restauarants in LA is offering their kids menu for free to anyone under 12 years old. 

  • El torito restaurants will be offering free meals to kids under 12. 

  • Oxnard Union High School District is providing free meals to all children under 18. There are no documentation requirements necessary. Daily from 10am-1pm

  • Toast restaurant in Whittier is offering free breakfast burritos to kids ages 6–12 years old from 7am-8am Monday through Friday

  • The attic on broadway in Long Beach is offering free kids meals and breakfast burritos for kids under 18 during school closure.

  • 8 locations in San Diego school district is providing free meals to any student between the ages of 2 and 18.

  • Escondido Union Elementary and Escondido Union High school districts will open eight locations to cover breakfast and lunch on weekdays.

  •  Fallbrook Union Elementary School District will offer food service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays at 6 elementary schools

  • Oceanside Unified School District will begin offering free to-go meals Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oceanside High School, El camino high school, mission elementary and Libby elementary

  •  South Bay Union School District will also provide meals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 13 locations

  •  Sweetwater Union High School District will provide to-go breakfast and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at about 16 locations 

NEW YORK:

  • Kind citizen offering to grocery shop and do pharmacy runs for the elderly and those with compromised health. Email trudyjune4@gmail.com

  • Ciccio’s Pizza in Brooklyn is offering a slice and water to children, as well as a place to do school work.

  • All NYC public schools are offering a free grab and go breakfast and lunch from 7:30am-1:30pm

  • Evelyn’s kitchen is East Harlem will be providing healthy meals to children for the next 8 weeks. Basketball player Deandre Jordan donated to keep the giving going.

  • Wings Over in Syracuse and Ithaca will offer students one free kids meal per day.

  • Merchants Hospitality is offering free lunches between noon and 2pm for children up to the age of 14.

  • Free meals are available at Industry Kitchen , Merchants River House And Philippe Chow.

  • Craft in Binghamton will provide burger and fries every Monday and Friday until schools open back up

  • Any child under the age of 18 can pick up two bagged meals per day at 39 locations throughout Broome county.

  • Salvatore’s in Elmont is offering free pizza, drink and a safe place to do schoolwork. Ask for owner Vito.

  • Mamajuana Cafe in the Bronx will give children a free meal Monday-Friday from 11am-1pm and 4pm-8pm

  • Ravi Derossi’s in the East Village is providing free vegan school lunches from 12-2pm Monday- Friday
