Rio de Janeiro animal shelter is delivering pets to people in isolation

An animal shelter in Rio de Janeiro started a new pet delivery service to help people

In isolation. The shelter told Reuters they’ve delivered over 50 animals since April. After putting through a request, people looking for a pet must go through an online screening process.  Around 900 animals are currently available for adoption. Over 1,000 have expressed interest so far.

28 year old Luaira Paraízo Rodrigues Lourenço adopted her second cat and said:

"I work with healthcare recruitment and I see things that have left me emotionally shaken," Lourenço said. "When I'm sad, agitated or confused with something the cats come and bring me that love to restore myself. It's amazing."
