Michelle Obama and Ellen surprise DC elementary school

Randle Highlands elementary school in DC is filled with children who have bright futures. The other truth is that 65% of them are either homeless or in foster care. Every student in the school is economically disadvantaged. Yet that doesn’t mean their future is any less bright.  

Teachers at the Southeast DC elementary school typically use their own resources to buy school supplies, wash students laundry and more. 

Michelle Obama visited the school with a big surprise. She partnered with Ellen Degeneres and Apple to give them brand new macs for their computer lab, as well as iPads for every student. This was all part of Ellen’s greatest night of giveaways and what a great night it was.
